Somali Football Federation president, Ali Abdi Mohamed, held a lengthy consultative meeting with former football professionals including some who represented Somalia in the international calendar from 1960s.<\/p>\n

Former international and a retired university lecturer, Prof Muse Mohamed Naser, who coached Somalia\u2019s Ocean Stars in 1970s was very jubilant to be invited to a consultative meeting by the SFF president for the first time in more than 30 years. “For over 30 years I had neither been invited to SFF headquarters nor I was asked for any advice. I see there is a change in the SFF administration, but we need a change in terms of development and we are ready to voluntarily contribute to the Somali Football Federation\u201d<\/p>\n

Former international Mohamed Abdulle Farayare, who also previously lead the Ocean Stars as a head coach, commended the SFF president for being ready to listen to the legends. “If we once had been outsiders, today we are insiders and we are being listened to. We are more than ready to contribute our knowledge to Somali Football federation after many years we had been kept out of the game\u201d Farayare added.<\/p>\n

Former Somali Football Federation Deputy General Secretary and a businessman, Al Hadji Aden Abdulle Mahdi, said “The love for football remains in our hearts and we want to see our country\u2019s football develop to a higher level. We would like to congratulate Somali Football Federation for taking Somalia to its first ever Africa Under 17 Cup of Nations, but that is not enough. We need trophies in the next four years\u201d said Al Hadji Aden Abdulle who personally promised full cooperation with the SFF.<\/p>\n

Somali Football Federation president, Ali Abdi Mohamed, said the main objective for the organization of such a meeting was to listen to the sporting legends for their advice, adding that his office is always open to them.<\/p>\n

“You all have more experience and knowledge for the game and I am happy to listen to your advice. My office is always open to you\u201d Somali Football Federation president, Ali Abdi Mohamed, told the legends.<\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s consultative meeting was the second of its kind the SFF president Ali Abdi Mohamed, held with former sporting professionals since he was elected to lead Somali Football Federation in February this year.<\/p>\n
