The Somali Football Federation (SFF) with assistance from FIFA, concluded a 5-day FIFA MA refereeing course which continued from 3-7 September 2024.

 

The Somali Football Federation (SFF) with assistance from FIFA, concluded a 5-day FIFA MA refereeing course which continued from 3-7 September 2024.

The course was attended by more than 30 referees including international and national levels. FIFA technical instructor, Ali Said [Somalia] and FIFA fitness instructor, Mark Mazenko [Malawi] were teaching at the course.

Over the five days, the experienced professionals shared their invaluable knowledge with the participants, equipping them with the skills and confidence to officiate matches at the highest level.

During the closing ceremony, Somali Football Federation presdident Ali Abdi Mohamed presented certificates to the participants and expressed his gratitude to Ali Said for his commitment to developing referees in Somalia.

“I would like to thank our expert Ali Said and his colleague Mark Mazenko from Malawi, who came here to teach our referees new techniques and standards according to FIFA and CAF guidelines,” said Ali Abdi Mohamed.

“I extend my best wishes to all the participants who have gained knowledge and are ready to apply it in the future”

He added that, “For sure we are committed to improving the refereeing landscape in Somalia and ensuring that our referees are always at the top of their game”
